Quiet Weekend

We had a wonderful celebration at the Women’s Dinner last weekend. Thanks to Kathy Corbett, who once again, opened her home and treated us to some amazing food. Thanks also to Higher Gear for making sure we all went home with a little schwag! It was great to see many familiar faces and many new ones as well.

Everything about the Women’s Dinner gave me inspiration to take back to my training. But, the highlight of my evening came when I brought up our senior racers to accept their awards. I wanted to thank them for paving the way for younger generations of women athletes. I mentioned the movie, “A League of Their Own” as an example of the pioneering efforts women have made in athletics. Just moments after they accepted their awards, Pat Beam let us know that she was a Rockford Peach! Holy cow, I think the room stood still for a moment. Incredible! I know we’d all like to hear just a little more about Pat’s experience – maybe she’ll fill us in?!

Training: Don’t miss a beat with your training. Take part of the many computrainer training sessions available at Higher Gear. For a full schedule of classes and open training times click here
