The Olympics are winding down and for some of us that means a little more sleep! I’ve spent too many hours in front of the TV over the last few weeks watching the best athletes in the world compete. Amazing!! Not only are they incredible athletes, but most of them have made great sacrifices in order to reach their goals. Our goals may not be as far reaching as Olympic athletes, but we should still work to achieve them. Below are local rides and races to help you stay on track.
Sunday Ride. This week we’ll change it up a bit and head out on the Darrell Fisher loop. The 60 mile ride will depart from Higher Gear Highland Park at 8am and average 19mph.
Tuesday Women’s ride. This ride departs from HG Wilmette at 9:30AM. The 1.5 hour ride is split into groups based on ability.
Women’s Clinic with Rahsaan Bahati. In place of this week’s Wednesday ride, we will have a clinic with Rahsaan Bahati. Join us for an evening of riding, skills and a Q&A with Bahati. The ride/clinic starts at 6PM, earlier than usual. Click here for all the event details.
Fredo’s Ride. Join Fredo on a fast paced group ride each Thursday night during the summer. The ride departs from HG Wilmette at 5:30PM and averages 20+mph.
Winfield Criterium. This two day race series in the western burbs offers both and evening and day criterium. Both courses have a challenging hill, which always makes for an exciting race. For event details click here.
