Summer Racing Continues

Medals and JerseysLast week our local riders were shining bright on the big stage! Congrats to Kelli Richter, Cady Chintis, Jannette Rho and Daphne Karagianis for a spectacular performance in the pro race at Elk Grove Village! Our master’s riders also made a good impression at Master’s Track Nationals in Indianapolis. We took home several national championship jerseys and plenty of hardware! Lynn Rivier, Rita Kacala, Kristen Meshberg, myself and Stacy Mosora represented our area well. For a recap on all the events at Nationals, click here

This week we’ll focus on things close to home, but fun nonetheless. Check out what’s happening and take advantage of the beautiful weather forecasted for this weekend.

Wood Dale Criterium – This is a favorite local course, which is used multiple times each season. It’s in an industrial park, so there’s plenty of space to park and even warm up. The course is not too technical, so it’s great for any level rider. For details on the event, click here
Women’s Dirt Days #4 – Join Becky Welbes for another adventure on the trails. This Saturday she’ll be heading out to Kettle Moraine in Southern Wisconsin. For ride details, click here
Vernon Hills Grand Prix –Another local favorite known for its long straight-aways and not-too-technical corners. For details on the event, click here
Roger Delange Trophy Race – This race is one of the highlights of the summer at Northbrook. Over the years, the race has attracted top level cyclists from around the country. Whether you’re participating or spectating, this is an event not to miss. For a little history on the event and details on the upcoming race, click here
Coming Up:
Villa Park Grand Prix- Summer may be winding down, but there’s still great racing ahead. Villa Park is a great local race, so plan to head out for some fun! For details on the event, click here .
Village Verdigris Junior CX Clinic – Team USA’s David Lombardo will be leading
the clinic along with SRAM’s 4 time Illinois Cat 1 Champ Scott McLaughlin.
The clinic is open to all, however is limited to 30 riders. The clinic will be held on Saturday, August 17 in Arlington Heights. For more information, click here
