There’s more than a little chill in the air these days, but that shouldn’t deter you from all the fun you can have on your bike this weekend. There’s plenty of great racing and riding and with all the candy in your future, you’ll want to stay active to ward off any Halloween lbs!
Lakefront TTT – Head to the south side tomorrow morning for the unveiling of the new extension of Lakeshore drive. There are still slots available to for the team time trial. It’s 5K where teams compete in either aero or Eddy Merckx (non aero) fields. You’ll never experience a smoother racing surface! Chi-Cross Cup Race Series #6 – This week the CCC series heads to Bartlett’s Sunrise Park. The course is the longest in the series at 2.5 miles. Along the way you’ll battle wind up rolling hills and through wooded areas. The course is also known for “Heckle Hill”, so beware! Estabrook Park – This race is part of the Wisconsin cross series. I mention it because it is a spectacular course that features a bit more off-road than most courses. It’s a beautiful location that’s not far away and is one of my favorites! For more information, click here http://wicycling.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/EP-2013-flyer.pdf.
Chi-Cross Cup Race Series #7 – Campton Cross is located in Anderson Park in St. Charles. It’s one of the original races in the series and since it occurs right around Halloween, racers are encouraged to dress for the occasion! For race details, click here http://chicrosscup.com/schedule/.
Sadie Hawkins Ride- This event is a race of a different kind. It’s a bit like a scavenger hunt, so riding fast is only half the battle and strategy is key! The best part about this event is that it is a fundraiser for the Chicago Women’s Health Center. Its hours of fun beginning with registration at 3pm in Palmer Square Park and will wrap up with a dance beginning at 9:30pm. Time for a little cross training! Have a great weekend!
