Include Bike Racing in Your 2014 Goals

ICAIt’s not too early to start setting your goals for the 2014 season. For those of you who haven’t tried bike racing yet, here’s a little inspiration from our Illinois Cycling Association treasurer and super cycling enthusiast, Vanessa Buccella. Make it happen in 2014! If after watching this video you have questions, please let me know or go to the ICA website at http://illinoiscycling.org/ Hope to see many new faces next year!

Events:
Midwest Regional Cyclo-Cross Championships
– Snow is in the forecast for this evening and throughout tomorrow morning, which should make the course for the Midwestern Regional Championships challenging and exciting! Other than the snow, the course is a familiar one to Chicago racers. It’s located in the Dan Ryan Woods in the Beverly neighborhood. Head out to race or spectate. You won’t be disappointed. Coming Up:
Afterglow – Although it’s impossible to calm the competitive nature of racers, given the right atmosphere, there’s certainly an opportunity to have a little fun while racing. That’s the spirit behind the Afterglow race put on by two teams of Hipsters; Robot ❤ and the Chicago Cuttin’ Crew. Head out to Douglas Park, located at 1401 S. Sacramento in our fine city of Chicago. Annual Women’s End of the Season Dinner – It’s time once again to come together and share stories of the past season and look ahead to whatever 2014 holds. The dinner will be held at Kathy Corbett’s home on Saturday, January 18. More details to follow.

Have a great weekend!
