March Rolls in Like a Lion…

…and I hope it goes out like a lamb! We can’t seem to get out of this cycle of arctic cold, slight warm-up, snow, repeat. The beginning of March seems to be starting out in the same pattern, but this winter’s just got to let up soon. There are outdoor races starting very soon and there’s a large community of Chicago cyclists just waiting to head out on the roads.

Good weather or bad, the upcoming events are a go. Check out what’s ahead and plan to get out and ride!

Ray’s MTB Women’s Weekend – The weather may not cooperate for this weekend, but it doesn’t have to since this Milwaukee Mountain Bike Park is indoors. No matter what level of rider you are, this weekend is perfect for you. On Friday they’ll have Hall of Fame member, Leigh Donovan and her coaching staff lead clinics. There’ll be everything from the basics to the extreme jumps and everything else in-between. For the rest of the weekend you can continue to practice your skills and the bonus is that women are admitted for half price! For more information, click here.

Road Racing Clinic – The Tuxedo Thunder cycling team is putting on a skills and drills road clinic on Sunday, March 16. If you’re curious about racing on the road or need to practice your bike handling skills, this is the perfect opportunity. For more information, click here.

Kenosha Velosport Training Crits – This is the 35th annual spring crit series and over the years cyclists have raced in wind (always), snow, rain and sunshine. We’ll see what this year holds, but we’ll be hoping for good weather. The races will be held at the Business Park of Kenosha on March 16th & 23rd, and at Silver Lake Park on March 30th. Get a jump on racing and make plans to head out to this annual event. For details, click here.

Gapers Block Crits – Registration is now open for this year’s series, which will be held in Calumet Park Monday, March 31 through Thursday, April 3. The races are just for beginners and the goal is to give you plenty of practice before the season gets going. For information, click here.

Have a great weekend!
