Kirkie Vei 20K TT – If you’re looking for flat and fast, this isn’t your course. Touted as technical and hilly, this course is sure to challenge the focus of the seasoned time trial racer. For details on the event, click here.
Edwardsville Rotary Criterium – It’s a bit of a drive to this race, as it’s located near St Louis, but it’s well worth it. The course is flat with 7 turns, several of which are tight and technical. There is substantial prize money and a downtown festival with lots of fans. For information on the event, click here.
Women’s Cyclo-cross Clinic – Ready or not, cyclo-cross season is right around the corner! If you’re looking for a tune-up or a chance to hone your skills to prepare for the upcoming season, this is your chance. Gift from the Heart Grand Prix/Polonaise Championship – This local race is new to the Chicago racing scene, but they’re doing it up big! The course features two 90 degree turns and one sweeping turn on a 1.3km course. They will also be awarding the top Polish riders in each category and with the amount of local Polish-American riders, there should be some great racing! For details on the event, click here.
Illinois State Elite Timed Championships – The timed events for the Elite State Championships will be held on Monday and Tuesday evenings at the Ed Rudolph Velodrome. For more information on the races, click here.
Elaine Nekritz Race/ Women’s Illinois State Scratch Race – This week’s the big race week for the women at the Ed Rudolph Velodrome. The Elaine Nekritz race awards both the title for the event as well as the Illinois State Scratch race championship. It’ll be a great night of racing, so come out and be a part of the action. Illinois State Time Trial Championships – Nothing worth having comes easy and that’ll certainly be the case in the state time trial championships. The race is located in Paw Paw and features smooth pavement, but with rolling terrain and one turnaround. Riders will compete for both 20K and 40K distances, depending on age groups. Relay Cross at Jackson Park – Most cross events are competitive and fun, but this one gets bonus points on both marks. It’s a great way to gear up for the season, so grab your partner and plan to be a part of the action. For event details, click here.
