Easter Weekend

We’ve had a few showers this week and the temps have dipped a bit, but all-in-all, we’re having a great spring. One bonus of the showers is that they bring out the green grass and flowers, which is always a treat after a long period of gray. Get out, enjoy a local group ride or head out to race. Spring is in the air and it just keeps getting better from here!

Events:

Marian Midwest Cycling Classic Criterium – If you want to race this weekend you’ll need to head to Indianapolis. This race is a bit like a circuit course, as its 2.5 miles long and has some climbing, descending and technical aspects. This is a great one to work on your skills and test your fitness. Don’t forget Indy is an hour ahead, so plan for the time difference. For information in the event, click here.

Coming up:

Kenosha Velosport Spring Training Criteriums – This is the third and final race of this series. The course is perfect for beginners and seasoned racers getting back to the road after a long indoor season. It’s not too technical, other than one somewhat tight corner. For series information, click here.

Skyway Classic Criterium Series – We’re a little over a week away from this great spring series. This race series is designed to immerse new racers into bike racing, but without all the stress. There’s four days of racing beginning on Monday and continuing through Thursday. If you’re interested in racing, this series is a must. For series information, click here.

CWEC’s Clinic Series Event #2 – In conjunction with the Skyway Series, the CWEC will have a course recon event. Riders should meet at the Edge Athletes Lounge and a group will ride down to the race course. For information on the clinic, click here.

Plan Ahead:

Women’s Track Cycling Clinic Track racing begins mid-May at the Ed Rudolph velodrome. If you’re interested in racing or learning about track racing, this clinic is perfect. You’ll learn the basics of the track and riding a fixed gear bike. The clinic also includes some mock racing. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 23. For information, click here.

Have a great weekend!
