La Crosse Omnium – Looking to test your ability to be a good all-around racer? Head north to La Crosse for this three day series which includes a time trial, road race and a criterium. It’s a solid weekend of racing which is sure to test your strengths. For race information, click here.
CWEC’s Clinic #5 Vision – This clinic gives you the tools necessary to manage riding in all situations. Whether riding in a group, cornering or moving at light speed, you’ll learn what to focus on to be prepared. The clinic will be held from 11:15am till 12:15pm. Both MoM women’s races are after the clinic, but it may be a good idea to get most of your warm-up in beforehand so you’ll just need a little touch-up before the races begin. Monsters of the Midway –Mother’s Day is this Sunday, so it’s time for MoM at the University of Chicago campus. This classic race features wide open corners and long straight-aways; one side is typically into the wind and the other has a serious tailwind. It’s close to home and always fun, so don’t miss out. Dirt Days #1 – Whether you’re new to mountain biking or are a serious shredder, this series is all about fun for everyone. This series is not about racing, it’s just about getting out and riding the trails. First up is a day at Kettle Moraine. For ride details, click here.
Single Bong Time Trial – This is the first of this series of races held around the Bong Recreational area. The first race is 20K and it’s one loop around with all right turns. There are a few rollers, but the roads are generally smooth. For race details, click here.
2016 Season Begins – The 2016 track racing season begins this coming Thursday at the Ed Rudolph Velodrome in Northbrook. It’ll be a busy few days leading up to the opening night with an upgrade clinic on Saturday and number pick-up/social on Monday night. For information on all the upcoming events, click here.
Fox River Omnium – This two day series includes Saturday’s Elgin Cycling Classic. This race is known for a somewhat technical descent/climb combo, which, if mastered, can be the key a successful finish. Sunday is the Fox River Grove Criterium. This race is for the mountain goats, as it has a significant climb followed by a twisty descent. For event details, click here.
North East Wisconsin Omnium – It’s another multi-day racing event! This one includes two short, but challenging time trials and two criteriums, over 3 days. If you’re looking to improve your abilities as an all-around rider, this series will certainly help. For race information, click here.
