The holiday season kicks off with Thanksgiving Day. It’s a day where we can join with friends and family and celebrate all we have to be thankful for, including our health. Start your day and this season renewing your fitness and health goals. Get out, enjoy the outdoors and participate in all this world has to offer!

Big Marsh Bike Race – Feeling a bit full from your Thanksgiving Day feast? Head out to the new Big Marsh Bike Park on Friday and burn off some of those holiday calories. You’ll be racing cross on a brand new course, you’ll be outside and you’ll be enjoying the fresh air. Skip the shopping mayhem and do something good for you. For event information, click here.

The Early History of Women’s Cycling in Chicago – We’ve come a long way, ladies! Women have struggled throughout history to gain independence and equality and the bicycle has been a big part in moving us forward. Join historian Chris Sweet at BFF Bikes for an evening of history on how the bicycle has been a part of empowering women for decades. For event information, click here.

Chicross Cup #11 – It’s the 2016 Illinois State Cyclo-Cross Championships at Montrose and the lakefront. It’s anyone’s guess what the conditions will be on race day. There’ve been years with frigid temperatures and years where it’s been downright balmy. The course has some guaranteed features, but with its proximity to the lake and wind, there are always plenty of course variables. Whatever the conditions, there are championships on the line and there will be battles in the field! For race information, click here.


Rapha Braver Than The Elements Training Ride – Prepare for the upcoming Rapha event with a training ride this Saturday. The ride will depart from the Rapha Chicago Clubhouse and head west for a 55 mile loop. For ride details and to register, click here.

Pedaling With Purpose – Want to have a successful 2017 racing season? You’ll need to start building your fitness now so you can be ready to hit the start line in a few months. Join this structured winter indoor training program at George Garner Cyclery in Libertyville from December 3 through March 19. You’ll need your bike and a trainer. Classes meet Wednesday’s at 7:30pm and Saturday’s at 9am. For program information, click here.
