Spring Super Criterium

After a week of stormy weather, things are looking up for the weekend and just in time for some exciting races and rides. Whether you prefer a solid surface or varied terrain, you’re covered with this weekend’s rides and races. Check the listings below for a few options around our area.


Great Dane Velo Club Spring Series – It’s round two of this criterium series near Madison, Wisconsin. The course is located in an industrial park, which isn’t too technical and is great for this time of the year. For more information, click here.

Rough Road 100  Looking for more gravel adventures? This event includes a multi-surface road race, which of course, includes gravel. There are 100K and 64K options. For more information, click here.

Spring Super Criterium – It’s the 10th annual Spring Super Criterium at Blackhawk Farms Raceway. The race is held on an actual car racing track, so there’s no traffic and some interesting twists and turns you don’t find in your average criterium. The bonus is they also have indoor bathrooms and a food vendor, all on-site! Don’t miss out on this great spring classic. For more information, click here.

WoMo AR Ride – Looking for an active recovery ride after a hard weekend of racing and training? Maybe you’re looking for an easy paced ride to learn the basics of group riding? Join the ladies of Half Acre Cycling as they kick off the WoMo AR rides. The rides will depart from 5723 N California at 5:15pm. For more information, click here.

Coming Up:

Intro to Track Cycling at Rapha –Make plans to attend this information gathering event at the Rapha Clubhouse Chicago on Wednesday, April 12 from 6 till 8PM. You’ll have all your track cycling questions answered and you’ll be ready to head to the velodrome! For information on the event, click here.

WoMo Ride – This edition of the women’s ride will be led by the ladies of BFF Cycling. Join them as they journey from the city to Highland Park. As with all WoMo rides, there is a no-drop option as well as a more spirited paced group. For more information, click here.

Women’s Track Cycling Clinic – Ever wonder what it’s like to ride a fixed gear bike or ride on a velodrome? Attend this beginner women’s clinic on April 22 at the Ed Rudolph Velodrome and learn everything from the basics to trying your hand at some race strategy. It’s all in a low-key environment to help you overcome any fears or just get an understanding without feeling pressured. For event details, click here.
